Normal round nose pliers have a tapered nose which causes looping to be inconsistent.
The specialty three-step pliers will guarantee the same size loop every time.
Approximate loop size a little over 2, 3 & 5mm which is what the barrels measure when I squeeze these tightly.
Please note: these are looping pliers, not jump-ring pliers. They have a three step side and a flat side.
